Well here we are at the FMCA rally in Coos Bay Oregon the weather is perfect in the low 60's at night and 70's during the day. I am running into internet problems either there is NO Verizon Internet (but the phone works) or the internet I find is SLOW. Right now I am using the Casino internet and it is fine for now. They are expecting up words of 600+ rigs here later so I am sure it will slow down. Our trip up was fantastic it reached 109* going through Redding but than the temp came down by the time we stopped at Wal-Mart in Yreka. Wal-mart was OK but they had LED lights in the parking that LIT up the inside of Kermit. But for the price it was great. Our drive up through Southern Oregon was beautiful and everything was Sooooo green. We reached Eugene and had to head south and that was interesting because we had to go through town and there was road work which made it nerve racking but had no problems. EVERYONE GOT THE HELL OUT OF OUR WAY.... LoL...... We spent the at Florence Elks RV Park which is located about 5 miles north of the Lodge right off 101. Getting here to the rally was way cool traveling south on 101. Oregon is so GREEN and COOL. We are going to do some tripping around Coos Bay and check out the coastal areas close to us. I know we are close to Oregon Dunes. I will do my best to post some more later..... The Blog itself has changed the way it is set up. I am not sure I can do the slide show anymore....

This is the end......

We are home safe and as sound as we can be. It was a great trip and wish we were still on it. But all good things need to come to a end. There are many things to do in the Southwest and many more to be done. But that will be for another day. Sure wish we could have gone back east to see our family and friends. Perhaps next year or when ever. Who knows. Shelia has her eyes set on Germany next year so we can visit Alex and she can see Europe (or at least parts of it.) I need to get going today and get out there and start cleaning the Motor Home and truck before the bugs dry... YUCK...... This is Good Bye for now and if anyone needs all they have to do is "holler"

Hearst Castle and ?

Well this is going to be our next to last post. I will try and do a summary post after we get home to Ceres. Yesterday we traveled to Hearst Castle, what a magnificent place, The pictures do not do it justice and now amount of my typing could describe it. Despite it being over cast and chilly we had a great time. Today we will venture down to Solvang and do the touristy thing and walk and SHOP....... Gezzzzzzzz I am getting tired of shopping. Make It A Great Day......

USS Midway

We toured the Midway and Air Craft Carrier that was built in the 40's and is now retired in San Diego. My camera really screwed up and I missed a lot of the pictures. The tour was more then worth the cost of admission. We will come back one of these days and see it again. Tomorrow (Sunday) is a travel day, we are going to make it to Santa Maria and spend 1 night at the Elks there. We will move to Atascadero Elks and it is there we will finish our adventure. We hope to visit Hearst Castle and go to Pismo and EAT CLAM CHOWDER at "Splash"... Providing the camera still works I will post pictures..

Off Road and A Day at San Diego Safari

Before we left Pahrump we did Laundry washed the truck and took a ride up in the Mountains EAST of Pahrump. Had a great time and the views were awesome from up there..

We left Pahrump and drove 190 miles to Hesperia Elks and spent the night. we are now at Chula Vista Elks and will be here until Sunday...

Today we got together with our old Pastor John Smith and his wife Donna. They have memberships to San Diego Safari and they can bring in one guest each so we went and had a great day. I have pictures but I can not get to them right now. I will post them later...

Oops

OK so it has been 2 days. Nothing much happened although we took a wonderful ride with Bill and Jill directly east from their house and went up into the mountains. it was a beautiful ride and the overviews of Pahrump were really cool.

We want to give out a GREAT BIG shout out of THANKS to them both for opening up their house and letting us stay for the 4 days..... J & B you make wonderful Host and Hostess....... Thanks again..

Yesterday and today are travel days for us we spent the night in Herspira at a Elks Lodge and today we will travel to Chula Vista Elks just south of San Diego and stay there until Sunday when we will be on the move north up the coast and goof off there. While in San Diego we might go to a Padres game not sure of that yet. I do know we are going to the San Diego Zoo.

That's it from here be safe and enjoy your day.......
