This is the end......
We are home safe and as sound as we can be. It was a great trip and wish we were still on it. But all good things need to come to a end. There are many things to do in the Southwest and many more to be done. But that will be for another day. Sure wish we could have gone back east to see our family and friends. Perhaps next year or when ever. Who knows. Shelia has her eyes set on Germany next year so we can visit Alex and she can see Europe (or at least parts of it.)
I need to get going today and get out there and start cleaning the Motor Home and truck before the bugs dry... YUCK......
This is Good Bye for now and if anyone needs all they have to do is "holler"

Hearst Castle and ?
Well this is going to be our next to last post. I will try and do a summary post after we get home to Ceres.
Yesterday we traveled to Hearst Castle, what a magnificent place, The pictures do not do it justice and now amount of my typing could describe it. Despite it being over cast and chilly we had a great time. Today we will venture down to Solvang and do the touristy thing and walk and SHOP....... Gezzzzzzzz I am getting tired of shopping.

USS Midway
We toured the Midway and Air Craft Carrier that was built in the 40's and is now retired in San Diego. My camera really screwed up and I missed a lot of the pictures. The tour was more then worth the cost of admission. We will come back one of these days and see it again.
Tomorrow (Sunday) is a travel day, we are going to make it to Santa Maria and spend 1 night at the Elks there. We will move to Atascadero Elks and it is there we will finish our adventure. We hope to visit Hearst Castle and go to Pismo and EAT CLAM CHOWDER at "Splash"... Providing the camera still works I will post pictures..

Off Road and A Day at San Diego Safari
Before we left Pahrump we did Laundry washed the truck and took a ride up in the Mountains EAST of Pahrump. Had a great time and the views were awesome from up there..
We left Pahrump and drove 190 miles to Hesperia Elks and spent the night. we are now at Chula Vista Elks and will be here until Sunday...
Today we got together with our old Pastor John Smith and his wife Donna. They have memberships to San Diego Safari and they can bring in one guest each so we went and had a great day. I have pictures but I can not get to them right now. I will post them later...

Death Valley
First few pictures are at Jill and Bill's. It rained and snowed on Saturday kinda strange being in the desert and seeing it rain. But it sure cleared up the air.
Shelia and I went to Death Valley for the day (J&B went to LA) Shelia and I had a fun time we mostly drove around and wondered at the sites. We actually stopped at the Visitor Center and watched a movie and bought a couple T-shirts. We took a couple of side roads (dirt) one was 40 miles long, the roads were washboards and very bumpy until you got up to about 30 and then they were not to bad. LoL.... Needless to say we raised some dust. We only ran into two other vehicles. It was really cool getting off the main road.
Today is going to be laundry and wash the truck day. Tomorrow we are going to head to San Diego and stay there for a few days. We are going to try to stay at the Elks Lodge in Chula Vista......

We will be here until at least Tuesday and then from here we have no idea. Maybe head towards the coast.

Bryce Canyon and a Dummy Sheriff
F.Y.I. Tomorrow is a travel day they are calling for windy Wednesday so we are leaving a day early. We hope to stay at Boulder Nv. Elks Lodge if they are full we will find some place else. We hope to go to P-Town and visit for a few days. After that venture somewhere else.
Today we drove the 60 miles to Bryce Canyon National Park and all I can say is WOW and add it to your Bucket List. The pictures pretty much explain it as in 1 picture is worth a 1000 words. Also VERIZON ROCKS we were 9115 elevation at Bryce and our phones worked. Brianna called us to tell us that Mike Wallace had died. Bless her heart. Now for the picture of Barny he is a REAL Dummy who is sitting along the side of the road to freak out speeders... OK I admit it he got me twice.

Great Day in Zion
The pictures you see that have us both in were taken by US. I bought a little tri-pod and set it up and had fun with it. Also check out the last 2 pictures of the Motor Home going through the Tunnel. They have to stop traffic and the other end (1 mile away) and the MH had to drive down the middle in order to clear. Notice he had plenty of room.
Today we rode the shuttle in the park that went to places you can't in car and oh my are we happy we did.......

Road Trip to St. George and Moon Pictures
I took a couple pictures of the camp ground full. Yes the sites are small but that's what is so nice about it. And the Japs across from us are hilarious, one of them got on the roof and was kicking the vents..... Ha ha ha......
I took some pictures of the Moon rising over the cliffs that are directly across Highway 89 from us. First picture is during the day and then the Moon rising. After the moon came up the pictures did not work to well, but you get the idea.

Well we have a cover on the front of our RV you can see out and not see in...... Shelia and I sat here and watched...... All I can say is.........

Travel Day to Mount Carmel
Wow today we had a real change of scenery with every passing mile. Or so it seemed. One of the things I need to share is as we pulled in to Page Arizona around lunch time we decided to stop at McDonalds and have a Mighty Kids meal. So I saw a Super Wal-Mart to my left and McDonalds next door. So I parked in the WM parking lot and we got out and walked over to Micky Dee's. We go in and THEY are out of food??????? HuH? Was this really McDonalds? The only food they had was FISH. OK that was weird enough so we went across the street (Highway 89) to Sonic, because we were walkers we had to do the OUTSIDE menu. We pushed the button 4 times and waited as least 5 minutes. No answers Hmmmmmmmm there were other people there that had placed their order but had been waiting and waiting...... WE WALKED to Jack-in-the-Box and had lunch... It was a amazing and you would have had to be there.
Anyway our travel was UN-eventfull. The place we are staying is a 60's style Hotel/RV place with about 10 rooms and 10 RV spots. People here very nice and the internet is pretty good even though it is not secure...
If you interested where we are look up Mt. Carmel Utah. We are about 15 miles from the entrance of Zion National Park....... Very trippy........

Great Day in Sedona
First let me say the very first picture is a JOKE. We found these guys at the back of the park we are staying at. It looks like at one time it was a display....... Psssssst we are staying at DEAD HORSE State Park...
Our day at Sedona was way cool we did some shopping and rode the Trolly. On the Trolly we befriended a boy named Will. He wanted to know about Ace so we told him and took a picture.
The Scenery here is amazing some of it is what post cards are made of. A couple times I got the same feeling I get when looking at Yosemite Valley. We are going to try and do some more exploring tomorrow and will take more pictures. Enjoy the pictures...

Jerome Az....... Way up the hill
Today we did a road trip to Jerome Az. Jerome is a small town that used to be a Copper Mine town that has been converted to a Artist Meca High end shopping little stores Bistros.... Yackie Yack type of town run be ex-hippies and what ever. The towns only resource is Tourist..... I didn't take to many pictures of the town its self battery died....... Grrrrrrrrr
Travel Day to Dead Horse
Yesterday (today being Sunday) we traveled to Dead Horse. Very much uneventful, travel through Tucson and Phoenix was OK except for Phoenix and our GPS got us through with no problem. We drove up I-17 and there were a few climbs. 1 was about 5 miles up and lots of little ones and then there was a 7 miles decline of 5% that was fun but no problem. I took a few pictures this morning so you could see our camp set up you can't see it in the pictures but we are on a bluff over looking the town of Cottonwood. Not sure what we are going to do today but I am sure we will do something. LoL.......

March 30....... Bisbee
We went to Bisbee Az. today and I guess we were not into visiting because we only stayed for about an hour. We did ride the Trolly and learned about the town and the town itself looked interesting... Maybe our next trip...... I do know that there WAS a whole lot of Copper Mining there as you can see in the pictures.. When the mines went belly up Hippies moved in in the 70's and more or less saved the town from vandals.
Tombstone March 29th.
We really enjoyed Tombstone, at first we were only going to spend a little while there but it was so much fun we stayed until later afternoon. Today was going to be a kick back and get ready to move day but being we spent so much time at Tombstone we are going to go to Bisbee and then come back.
On our way to Tombstone I saw a sign along the creek talking about a town that was abandon but still had buildings, so we turned and went and visited. It turned out out pretty cool and there was a old grave yard there so we went and saw that. The sign said Graveyard .4 miles, well they lied I am guessing it was at least 1 mile and then it was up on top of a hill. Over all it was worth it. I added some pictures of it.. Please NOTE Ace is still alive! LoL

Day 7
Today (Yesterday) we toured the caverns and all I can say is WOW they were breath taking and worth every penny. You can not take any pictures inside because they are doing their best to preserve the caves. It took up all of our morning and part of the afternoon. We ventured out to the Super Wal-Mart in Benson and got some fixens we needed. The pictures contain part of our trip from Phoenix to here and a few of the campgrounds. I can say our view is fantastic over looking a huge valley and the night sky is clear and cold. I kinda wish I would have brought the satellite dish, because the only English channel is NBC. But it is OK we have movies, we finely watched Avatar and some other movie. The hills in the pictures don't do a lot for you but to us it does, because under them thar hills is the Caverns.......

Day 5? or Whatever
No pictures I took some but the ones I took don't really say anything to anyone except us...... LoL.. Saturday brought another warm day here and nothing earth shattering. We went to the rally in the morning did a little shopping. We looked at Motor Homes and didn't find anything we were impressed with except Shelia fell in love with a New Endeavor. $330+ ha ha ha... Little our of our price range. We saw Martina McBride and WOW can she sing.
We leave here tomorrow heading to Kartchner Caverns State Park until Saturday. From there we will be doing some touring of southern Arizona.
I do want to say that Brianna went to her UCP Ball Saturday and looked Beautiful she sang a song at the beginning of the Ball in front of lots of people and from what we hear she did a great job....... Brianna we are Sooooooooo proud of you...
Terry and Steve left today and made it home safe and sound despite adverse weather...... Thanks Steve and Terry for sharing your time with us...
Question are any of you leaving comments? Because I am not seeing or I can not see who the followers are... So if you please feel free to e-mail......

Day 2, 3, Joshua Tree Nat. Park
Left Lancaster around 9am with the intention of arriving in Phoenix around 4 or 5. While traveling the small 2 lane Highway (which we both loved) we cam across Joshua Terr Nat. park we stopped at the Visitor and discovered we could rive through the Park and come out on I-10. So we decided to take the drive and as you can see the pictures of the Park made the trip worth it. We stopped and had lunch and took a 2 miles walk among the rock formations. Very interesting and being spring was the perfect time of the year to visit. Will it set us behind A LOT. We got on I-10 71 miles west of the Arizona boarder. We arrived at out RV park at 9:30 and got in our spot got set up and went to bed. Today we went to "The Rally" it was OK large vendor tent and a whole bunch of RV's for sale. This in our opinion another bust of a Good Sam Rally. Unorganized and lots of people complaining about the set up of the RV part. We did have a very nice dinner with Vince, Ellie, and Nick. They are friends we know from RV.net and they were here for Pre-season Baseball. Even though they are staunch Dodger Fans we still love them. Tomorrow we will be going out to breakfast and to the Zoo with our Dear Friends Steve and Terry and then in the evening we are going to see Bill Cosby at the Rally.. Enjoy the pictures and I will post more when time permits.

December 27th 2011
We started this by my quitting my Job at ACE Hardware, a job I really loved doing not that I was making a whole bunch of money or anything but me being retired I could afford to work at ACE. I enjoyed interacting with customers and fellow employees. With my back ground in Building Maintenance it was perfect. But let it be known I HATE PLUMBING! Ha ha ha. The reason I quit was because me working at ACE really put a crimp in Traveling in our 2001 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 38ft Class A being pushed by a 2011 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 4 x 4 Crew Cab driven by Kermit the Frog, which also happens to be the name of our Motor Home.
Along the way we hope to post pictures and write about our travels.
